30 Days of Thanksgiving: Day 9

I am grateful for books and the people who write them. I have been reading for fun more over this past year than I have in some time. I needed some time after finishing grad school to not have to read things on a deadline. After having some time off from that, I began reading some on my own and joined with some friends to start a book club. Some of my favorites over the year have been the Twilight series (judge me), 19 minutes, My sister's keeper, Firefly lane, Come Back, Time traveler's wife, and many more. The books I have to read right now are: Water for Elephants, Helping Abused and Traumatized Children, Julie and Julia, and I am still trying to make it through Harry Potter 1.

Michael's recent favorites have been Marley and Me, Desire by John Eldredge, and Predictably Irrational.

It is fun to relax and get away or challenge yourself to grow through reading! Does anyone have any book recommendations?

  1. Have you read Catcher in the Rye? I hear good things...jay kay.

Seriously, though, I would recommend Cormac McCarthy's The Road, though it is pretty dark in some places.
