Halloween!

I let isabella choose if she wanted to go to the Thursday library night for a little parade and trick or treat or go to the dorms at OC to trick or treat. She chose "Daddy's work", so that's what we did the night before Halloween. Benjamin was a crab and Isabella was Elsa.

My parents came with us. One of the dorms we trick or treated in was one my mom lived in when she was in college and then I did when I was there. It was fun to see my freshman room.

My time hop on Halloween had posts of the past 3 years of sugar cookies. Here were this years. A few friends came over to play on Halloween morning and we decorated cookies.

We typically have pizza Halloween night and had this jack-o-latern pizza and a couple others.
Nana and Cappy joined us again. After we ate then we headed out to trick or treat a little in our neighborhood.

Then we came back home to pass out candy.

 And that's a wrap for Halloween 2014! :)

18 months

Singing: "LET IT GOOOOOO!"

A year and half old!! It is hard to believe!

In his 18th month he had his second hair cut. He was pretty fidgety, but he did well overall.
He climbed in the fireplace one day and I found him with black hands eating the rocks in there. (We now have that where it can't be opened.) He climbs everywhere else possible for him. He is constantly getting in to things he is not supposed to. He started having some separation sadness and will cry quite a bit when I leave him. That's been a little better this last week. He had his last canine tooth come through at the beginning of the month and has cut three molars since with one more partially cut through the skin. That has made for some not fun times. Sometimes at night he doesn't cry he will just start saying on repeat- Mama. Mama. Mama. Mama. Mama. He garbles a lot, but hasn't added many new words this month. Sometimes I think he has said a new word, but then I don't hear it again so I'm not sure. He said Papa and hello one day, but then not since. The pediatrician said any time between now and 2.5 he will have a language explosion and all of that garbling will be a new word every day. His favorite book is Brown Bear Brown Bear and he likes books that have holes in the pages he can stick his fingers in. He likes it when I sing the song "Skinamarinky dinky dink, skinamarinky do"...he will start doing the hand motions and garbling lots of noise. We finally had some relief in the mosquitos in our yard this last week and played outside every day for a long time. I think he would stay out all day if he could.

Tell me how you really feel about the Dr?

So big!
25lbs 3oz and 33 inches

We love you sweet boy!!

Last Saturday in review

I woke up to go running while the house was still asleep.

With daylight savings being later in the fall, its been darker later in the morning and sometimes the Sun isn't up at all when I go or its just beginning to rise.
It is so quiet and peaceful.

Michael got to go to an OU game with my dad. So we were going to be home on our own for a good part of the day.
He sent this pic from the game.

I'd read about a free fall festival at the OSU-OKC farmer's market I wanted to go to. Mom was able to come too!
Isabella chose a butterfly to have painted on her face.

They had carriage rides, and not only carriage rides but the "Cinderelly" carriage with glitter seats!

And the horse's hooves were painted with glitter too!

Face painting, popcorn, carriage rides, and Katiebugs!!! We tried strawberry with cream this time. It was SO good!

We picked up some lunch and then Isabella and I had hair cuts.
She straightened Isabella's hair to cut the ends straight.

It was so strange to see her hair with no curls!  Mom took the kids home after Izzy's cut so I could get mine trimmed. Thanks Mom!

That afternoon, I picked up some sourdough bread and made a big pot of soup for dinner. We ate after Michael got home from the game. And then the kids painted their pumpkins that Mom got them at the Farmer's market. It was a great fall day!

Orr Family Farm

Michael was off work last Friday for fall break. Isabella was the first one up in the morning, so we snuck out and picked up donuts while the boys slept. After breakfast we all got ready and went down to the Orr Family Farm.

We did the hayride to the pumpkin patch first because there was no line.

Next we went to the jumping pillows!!

Benjamin was a little unsure about jumping himself but enjoyed watching Isabella.

 Evel Knievel there.

We had packed a picnic and stopped to eat lunch. Then we fed the animals in the animal barn and played at the playground for a little while. Next we headed to wait in line for the train. We had a little while to wait so Isabella and I went and got a treat for us from the store.

Serious Benjamin on the carousel

As usual, she chose a stationary bench at first, but when she saw Benjamin was on a horse she decided to be brave and get on a horse too.  "Its not scary at all Mom!" She said in a very nervous/scared voice. :)
The carousel was our last thing. Then it was time to head home for Benjamin's nap time. We had a fun day.

Pumpkinville

We went to Pumpkinville with Mom one day of her Fall break. It's not something you could stay at all day, but the decorations are a fall lover's dream and there is plenty of fun to be had. I did see a mouse while we were there. A real one. Not a decoration one. One of my biggest phobias. Eeeks. Isabella asked me why I screamed and I tried to play it off. I don't want to pass on my crazy fear.

She wouldn't stop dancing for me to take these pictures. Which I guess just captures her personality. :)

They painted a pumpkin. (Which Isabella said she wanted to be "spooooky pumpkin" and now she asks everyone who comes to the door if they saw her scary pumpkin. Haha!)

We read books, played all over the playground, played music on the ground music tiles, and checked out the different decorations.

See all those pumpkins and mums?! A fall lover's dream right?! :)
We left there and met dad and Michael at the Garage downtown for burgers. Then came home and the kids were "booed" by their other grandparents. Such a fun surprise! Isabella loved finding treats at the door and even more that her grandparents were out in the yard hiding.

I saw this, this week and loved it! :) So true.
