Today (and everyday) we're both thankful for our parents... specifically the love, work, and many sacrifices they put into raising us.
In my line of work, I see a lot of kids in family situations that are very sad. As we've started thinking about having kids of our own some day, Michael and I have talked a lot about how thankful we are for our parents. We know they probably didn't do everything perfect, but we both grew up knowing that they were there for us and that we were loved which, sadly, is more than I can say for a lot of people.
Their love and presence in our lives as children was a precious and long-lasting gift that blessed us then and continues to shape our lives for the better as adults today.
