Day out with Thomas

For Isabella's birthday we got her tickets to the Day out with Thomas. That morning we went to Chick-fil-a for breakfast, then headed over to the Oklahoma Railway Museum.

There were different activities do to while you waited for your time to ride the train. They had a tent with several train tables set up.

Isabella got her first temporary tattoo. She was very confused why it didn't peel off like a sticker.

As we were walking around the grounds Thomas pulled into the yard. It was quite exciting!

We got in line for our ride and boarded the train. She was confused why she couldn't see Thomas while we were on the train. They played all sorts of obnoxious Thomas songs during the train ride. Who knew there were so many?!
After the ride we went to meet Sir Topham Hatt, which she was really excited about.
Yet, in all the pictures with him she has this blank stare on her face. I guess it was a lot to take in. It started to rain, so we headed out, buying our last sno cone of the season on the way.
It was a fun morning!

State Fair!

We went to the state fair a couple weeks ago, I'm behind in posting, but that's how it is right now! :) My dad took Isabella and me while Michael was out of town, and then we went and again later in the week with friends.
Isabella got to take in the glory that is the pig races.

And swifty...the swimming pig. (Since the fair, occasionally I'll hear her chanting: Go swifty go! Go swifty go!)

Sharing a cinnamon roll with Papa.

We stopped in a area that had rocks for a while. Playing in the rocks was a highlight for her. (Not sure why we even have toys). She also loved an exhibit of tractors.
She was super ornery that night.

Sharing some Wisconsin cheese. She was a fan!

We went to the AGtropolis where they have tiny chicks you can pet, and all kinds of other animals. Isabella was not a fan. She wanted to be held the whole time and kept saying, "all done, all done". I don't know if it was the crowds or the animals she didn't like...maybe next year.

The only thing she did like in that building was a kids area where you could "plant seeds" (aka, play in sand), gather eggs, apples, pumpkins, and potatoes, and at the end you took your goods and had them weighed in exchange for a token.

Several times since then she has said, 'Go to fair with papa?'. We had fun taking in the crazy sights and eating our favorite foods at the fair this year!

Celebrating two years!

We celebrated Isabella's birthday a couple Saturday's ago, which also fell on my Mom's 60th birthday! We kept her party to just family and a few friends as we knew we would have a houseful with that.
My mom always makes number cookies for birthdays.

My sister came over the night before and helped me do several things, but the biggest was tackling these cupcakes. I used this recipe from Annie's Eats and with just cream cheese icing.

Eating her cupcake with her surrounded by her sea of presents.

I was happy how everything turned out for the party and couldn't have pulled it off without all of the help from Michael, my sister, and my cousin. Thanks everyone for coming and loving on our little girl and celebrating with us.

Her actual birthday was the next day, on Sunday. We had to wake her up to have time to eat breakfast to leave to go to my parent's church where Michael was speaking that morning.
Michael cooked up our traditional number birthday pancakes.

We had lunch with my family to celebrate the September birthday (Michael, Mom, and Isabella).

Then we came home and spent the afternoon napping and checking out her new toys.
This was her birthday present from us and she has been loving her shopping cart.
We went out to Hideaway that night with Michael's parents for our last celebration. It was a weekend of celebrating Isabella and I hope she felt loved. Happy birthday baby girl!

last night

We successfully took some pictures the last night at the beach without anyone getting stung by a jellyfish!
Isabella was super cooperative (rolls eyes), so we ended up with more pictures without her.

Thanks for a great trip Nana and Cappy! We had a great time!

More random pictures

Our first night on the beach.

Hanging out on the pier by Dewey Destin's.
We love that place and a perk of going in September is the wait was the shortest we've ever seen.

At the melt down in Seaside

I love the hawaiian shaved ice at frost bites in seaside!

Isabella did too
Michael and I went on a date night to Mitchell's Fish Market. My food was excellent!

Mostly we played on the beach, took naps, and ate yummy food. We also went to the outlet mall and checked out some the beach towns around us on a few days. And that's my kind of vacation! :)

Beach baby

Several things derailed me from blogging last week...so here is a late post-vacation post.
I am happy to say I think our girl loves the beach as much as we do. She had a blast digging in the sand and playing away and even swimming out deep in the ocean.

The water was super rough one day, but otherwise we had great beach days and great weather.

If she wasn't concentrating on her work she was in motion. Her movement and some tricky lighting situations made it difficult for me to get good shots as I am still learning to shoot in manual mode.

Lots of helicopters and planes flew overhead, which she loved watching.

We loved our week at the beach and all of the family time we had. The Florida coast is so beautiful! Michael left for a 4 day work trip early in the morning when we got home. Isabella and I were missing Daddy and the beach as soon as we got home. She asked  me several times that week if she could "go to florida later" and "go on trip to beach".
