Fort Worth Stock Yards

Friday morning we went to the Ft. Worth Stockyards.

We met truffles the baby camel at the petting zoo.

Isabella loves the Llama llama red pajama books. I thought this llama was pretty cute.

We walked around, checked out some shops, and waited for the herd to come that takes over the street.

Stopping for a sno cone break.

And finally the herd started coming. People lined the streets to watch.

We left Ft. Worth and went to Five Guys for lunch, (which I thought was great). Then back to the RV for Isabella's nap and Paula and I slipped away to Ikea, the mecca of all kinds of awesome things. We grilled out that night and went swimming. It was a fun day!

WEEKEND ADVENTURES

One thing about marrying in to another family is gaining a whole new set of experiences that you might not have ever had before. Since being a part of Michael's family, some of my new experiences have been boating and tubing, sea-dooing (i think i just made up a word), tent camping, peanut butter on pancakes, OU football games, banana boats, homemade macaroni and cheese, and the latest: RVing. We headed out on Thursday in Michael's parent's new RV for a weekend trip.

On the road. The view from the front seat is pretty great.

Isabella read books, colored, played games on the phone, and napped on our way to Dallas.

We had a fun weekend and Isabella loved spending time with her grandparents. And while she is too young to remember the fun things we did 20 years from now, I believe in 20 years she will know that her grandparents love and cherish her as that foundation is being laid now.

Meeting puppies and trading tricks of the trade

We went out on some fun adventures and went swimming at the RV park.
Our little girl who was just crawling this time last year wore her first set of floaties and "swam" by herself.
It is crazy how much she has changed in one year's time! More on our adventures later...

Let freedom ring!

We had a later-than-planned start to the day after a long night with a congested little girl. We had lemon blueberry muffins for breakfast and then headed out to a parade.

There was so much to see! Isabella was very intrigued and would say "More Drum", "more car boats" (referring to the old cars that were long like boats), "more motorcycle"...

"More Dog!"

But to these loud shiner cars, she said: "All done!"

We all enjoyed it and I think we will go back again next year. (But take chairs.) We stood for an hour and twenty minutes, but it didn't really feel that long. We left for home to prepare our post parade feast.
My sister spent the day with us. Isabella loves her Aunt Flower.

In the evening we headed downtown and had a picnic in the park with friends. Isabella was excited to see Ava!

Playing in the water while waiting for their first firework show.

Isabella was not sure what to think about the fireworks at first, but then started joining in with saying Bang! Bang! Toward the end she started saying "All done". It was a late night for her and she fell asleep on the way home.

It was a long day, and we were all really tired from little sleep, but we had lots of fun and enjoyed spending the day with my sister and friends. Happy Independence Day!

Weekend Adventures

Friday:

Her first time to paint. Glad I took her clothes off as she decided to turn it into some body painting as well.

After painting we went and checked out the water park/splash pad at frontier city and rode the train a couple of times.

That night we headed out to the lake to catch what turned out to be an awesome sunset. I just had my phone to take pics, but wished I had my camera. Its one of my favorite spots in our city.

Isabella and I were twins.

 Saturday:
Isabella partied it up at a friend's princess birthday party.

Isabella had her first face painting, done by Rapunzel.

Sunday:
Dressed up in her fourth of July Sunday best

I feel like I am always saying "I can't believe it is already ______" fill in the blank.  But, I really can't believe its July already! We've got a fun and busy week ahead!
